Current shenanigans…

My passion to serve those and their families going through such a monumental transition has not wavered. I graduated from the University of Colorado, College of Nursing with my B.S.N. in December, 2022. I received a job offer for a labor and delivery position. Ultimately, I decided to turn this offer down. I debated on whether this was the right choice for me for about a month and a half. My main concerns were working night shifts and the subsequent ability for me to present for my young children (aged 3 & 5) and my partner. I hope to get a job in public health, providing in home nursing support in the prenatal and postpartum periods of life. I hope to learn what services the public needs the most and how best to serve the needs in my capacity as a nurse. I still have my doula certification and plan to become a midwife. I applied to graduate school even though my experience as a nurse is as a novice. If I don’t get accepted this year, I will continue to pursue my dream. I will just continue on my journey with more experience to use in my tool box. I will not be moving back to Abilene. I will be staying here in Colorado. Thanks to everyone in my life and those in the Abilene community who have supported me.

I DID IT!
